Deal: Save Over £2K on Brand-New Aprilia Tuono 660
A record breaking weight-to-power ratio motorcycle in the middleweight sportbike sector, save over £2K on a brand-new Aprilia Tuono 660
If you were to tell me that Aprilia’s MotoGP success in recent seasons has boosted sales and interest around the Noale-factory’s bikes, I wouldn’t at all be surprised.
And while the RSV4 is the closest thing to an RS-GP for the road, thanks to its MotoGP-style aerodynamics and technology, the Tuono range is just as impressive.
Aprilia has three 1000cc-plus Tuono models in its range, including a ‘V4 Factory’ and ‘SE-09 SBK’ edition, however, the Tuono 660 is middleweight that packs just as much punch as relative to its naked counterparts in the 600 to 700cc range.
A wet weight of 183kg and 95bhp makes the Aprilia Tuono 660 a record breaker when it comes to the power-to-weight ratio in its category. The bike features an aluminium frame and swingarm, while a fully adjustable Kayaba suspension comes with a dedicated set-up. The chassis dimensions have also been designed to improve response and handling through re-worked geometry of the steering column.
The Tuono 660’s parallel twin, four-stroke engine also produces 49.4Ib ft of torque and features traction control, engine mapping, cruise control and five riding modes for the track and road, including two that are customisable.
The braking comprises double 320mm discs with Brembo radially-mounted calipers. The rear features a single 220mm disc and Brembo two piston caliper. Suspension at the rear also comes from Kayaba and consists of an asymmetrical aluminium rear arm. The rear shock absorber is adjustable for preload and rebound, with 130mm of travel.
With a £9,850 RRP, Peterborough-based dealer Wheels is offering a brand-new Tuono 660 for £7,798 in the eye-melting Acid Gold colourway. There are three colourway options for the Tuono 660 including a Rush Grey and Torque Red, both of which are also available through Wheels with savings, although you won’t be saving as much as the Acid Gold option.
