Two James Bond Triumph Motorcycles Raise £60K for Charity
Daniel Craig donated two of his limited edition James Bond Triumph motorcycles which have raised £60,000 for RNLI
Daniel Craig teamed up with Triumph to donate his very own Scrambler 1200 James Bond and his Tiger 900 limited edition motorcycles.
Both motorcycles were used in No Time To Die, the 25th James Bond film and the Scrambler 1200 was number three of 250 special James Bond edition Triumphs built, while the Tiger 900 was the very first example of 250 created for the movie.
The total amassed by Craig and Triumph for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) charity, which saves lives at sea, was a record £60,000 and both bikes were personally signed by Craig on both sides of the motorcycle.
The RNLI is celebrating its 200th anniversary in 2024 and the auction, held by Bonhams at the Classic Motorcycle Mechanics Show, with the 1200 Scrambler selling for £28,000 and the Tiger 900 for £32,000.
Craig said: “The RNLI has been close to my heart all my life since growing up near the RNLI station at Hoylake. I am delighted that the auction was a record success and hope the donation will contribute to the incredible job the RNLI do of saving lives at sea.”
Each lot included a riding experience at the Triumph Adventure Experience in Wales, UK with James Bond stunt co-ordinator Lee Morrison and stunt double Paul Edmondson.
Triumph CEO Nick Bloor also hand-signed the two James Bond edition motorcycles, adding: “Triumph has been delighted to support the 200th anniversary of the RNLI with this auction of two unique Bond motorcycles spearheaded by Daniel Craig.
“We hope the two winning bidders thoroughly enjoy owning the truly unique Scrambler 1200 and Tiger 900 Bond Limited Editions, which are both iconic motorcycles in Triumph’s history, and I hope that the winners enjoy the unique experience of riding with the incredible stunt riders Lee Morrison and Paul Edmondson!”
