F1 Boss Allegedly Helping Lewis Hamilton MotoGP Bid

Lewis Hamilton has hit the motorcycle headlines many times over the years, although the news that the seven-time F1 champion was looking to get into MotoGP sent shockwaves through the sport.

While the finer details of the story aren’t known, Alessandro Alunni Bravi has been named by the Italian news outlet Gazzetta dello Sport as the person in question. Alunni Bravi seems to have no clear connection to the British driver, or to the sport of MotoGP, for that matter, making his alleged involvement in the deal somewhat unclear.

What we do know is that he’s an Italian lawyer and was the Managing Director of the Sauber Group of companies. He has also been the Team Representative for the Stake F1 Team since 2023. It’s this mixture of experience from within and outside the paddock which is likely attractive to Hamilton, who will need somebody he trusts to be hands-on with the team while he is racing in F1.

While the news makes it sound like Hamilton is arranging his toys ready to take the plunge into MotoGP, the newly-signed Ferrari ace will need to wait for Liberty Media’s buyout of the series to be approved. It was the middle of December when the probe into the deal was officially launched, with the European Commission launching phase two of an investigation into whether or not the $4.2 billion deal would have a monopoly-like effect on the two biggest global motorsport series.

It was later in December that KTM MotoGP boss, Pit Peirer, confirmed that ‘concrete talks’ had been had with Hamilton’s management team, with Beirer even going as far as to say that Hamilton’s close ties to Monster Energy would not be an issue.
