Harley-Davidson to host ‘The No Show’ motorcycle event
Harley-Davidson is sticking it to COVID-19 by hosting a custom motorcycle show that cannot be cancelled
WITH events, races, ride-outs and new bike launches getting cancelled left right and centre, Harley-Davidson has got creative with its latest custom motorcycle show.
The week-long online event, called The No Show, brings together Harley-Davidson’s global online community to celebrate and support custom motorcycle shows and builders. And there’s nothing that COVID-19 can do to spoil it!

The No Show will be running from now until the 21st June on the official Harley-Davidson Instagram feed and will feature over 50 builders from 10 countries. 25 of those builders will be coming from the sadly postponed Mama Tried, Congregation Vintage Bike & Car, and Born-Free motorcycle shows. The remaining craftsmen and women were selected by Harley-Davidson and span a range of style, era, and geography. The bikes will be rolled out in batches every day for five days with awards being given out at the end of the week.
Custom bike fans can head over to the H-D IG page now and scroll through the vast array of bikes on ‘display’. Each bike will include a video of the builder walking them through his or her machine in more detail. Aside from the bikes and custom builds, visitors can and scroll to a virtual music stage to listen to acoustic sets by The White Buffalo, Hollis Brown, and The Kenneth Brian Band.
“We’re here to support those who support our brand and culture,” said Patrick Holly, brand director at Harley-Davidson Motor Company. “With The No Show, we want to give part of our community not only a venue to show their work to millions but also offer our help in the short term."
On the last day of the show, Sunday, June 21st, three builders are to be recognised for their achievements in ingenuity, artistry, self-expression, and the ability to pave a new road in customisation. One winner will be selected from each of the following categories to receive a one-of-a-kind award created by Harley-Davidson designers:
- Media Choice Award: chosen and presented by journalists from industry-leading motorcycle publications.
- H-D Styling & Design Award: chosen and presented by Brad Richards, vice president of styling & design at Harley-Davidson and long-time garage builder.
- Harley-Davidson Museum Award: chosen by the museum staff and presented by Bill Davidson, vice president of the Harley-Davidson Museum and great-grandson of Harley-Davidson's co-founder William A. Davidson.
