Jessi Combs film announced | The Fastest Woman on Earth
A documentary film following the late Jessi Combs has been announced, chronicling her quest to become the fastest woman on earth
HBO has announced a documentary film that follows the late Jessi Combs as she attempts to become the fastest woman on earth in her record-breaking jet-powered car.
Combs passed away in August 2019 after an accident during one of her record attempts while she was piloting the North American Eagle Project, in Alvord Desert, Oregon. A front wheel failure was blamed for the crash, causing the vehicle to lose control at an estimated 520mph.
Combs is best known for her four-wheeled records and TV appearances, having featured in Overhaulin', Mythbusters, 1001 Car Things To Do Before You Die, All Girls Garage, and Science Channel's How to Build... Everything. Combs was also an avid motorcyclist though and was an extremely talented motorcycle builder and fabricator. One of her projects, seen above, was even showcased at the SEMA show in the USA.
The Real Deal BMW R NineT was supposed to promote Real Deal values—self-confidence, breaking stereotypes, healthy decisions, hands-on training, creative development, positive images, community involvement, and grabbing life by the balls. It was built by Combs and fellow female bike fan Theresa Contreras. The bike was pretty extreme, featuring fully custom bodywork, upgraded suspension, new foot pegs, and even nitrous oxide – for that extra little bit of ‘pep’ off the line!
The Fastest Women on Earth will begin streaming in certain regions on HBO Max on 20th October.
