TRIUMPH America has issued a recall on more than a thousand 2018 Street Triple models because of a potential electrical fault.

The recall addresses the issue of moisture getting into the left-hand handlebar-mounted control, which could cause the indicator and headlight switches to malfunction and possibly cause a crash if the defect occurs at the wrong time.

It will affect approximately 1,250 units of its 2018 Street Triple R, Street Triple S, Street Triple RS, and Street Triple LRH in the United States. Triumph UK hasn't yet got back to us on whether the issue affects models on this side of the Pond or not. We await their call...

It’s not Triumph America's first recall of 2018, with the company recalling around 3,000 Thruxton and Thruxton R models in February because of stalling caused by engine management software problems – a relatively easy fix which was quickly sorted.
