Is This Kitted-Out KTM 1290 Super Duke R a Steal?
Kitted out by KTM’s PowerParts accessories, this low-milage 2023 1290 Super Duke R costs just £12,999
Replaced by the new KTM 1390 Super Duke R, this 2023 PowerParts Edition offers great value thanks to its long list of upgrades.
That’s especially true when we factor in that it has just 2,248 miles on the clock. Its upgrades when it comes to performance start with the Akrapovic slip-on exhaust which is made of titanium and carbon fiber for a lightweight design.
The Akrapovic system produces a deeper, more aggressive exhaust note, while a performance air filter has been added to improve throttle response and engine efficiency. A lightweight lithium-ion battery is also part of the PowerParts upgrade to this 1290 Super Duke R, which is lighter than the stock variation and therefore significantly reduces the overall weight, while also improving handling.
You get the usual angry KTM V-twin engine, which produces 177.5bhp and 103.3Ib ft of torque, and a sophisticated chassis. There’s an upgraded WP Apex Pro steering damper, which is adjustable damping for improved high-speed stability and control, fully adjustable 48mm front forks and a WP Apex rear shock for precise handling.
Dual 320mm discs with Brembo Stylema four-piston radial monobloc callipers make up the front braking set-up, which also includes cornering ABS, while at the rear there is a 240mm single disc with two-piston calliper and cornering ABS.
CNC-machined triple clamps feature on the bike for increased stiffness and reduced flex. The motorcycle, provided by The Bike Specialists, also includes CNC-machined aluminium parts and adjustable brake and clutch levers, footpegs, and bar ends, all with KTM’s signature orange anodized finish.
There are carbon fibre parts across the rear pillion seat cover section and on the front of the bike, while front and rear fenders, side panels and chain guard have all been upgraded through the KTM PowerParts accessories. The bike also gets a custom graphics kit and exclusive PowerParts branding.
Finally, a Track Mode upgrade, along with additional rider modes feature on this 2023 model, as does engine braking and traction control settings. KTM’s Quickshifter+ system allows for clutchless upshifts and downshifts.
Heated Grips have also been fitted, while the KTM My Ride, Bluetooth connectivity for navigation, music, and call control are all accessible via the TFT display.
