The KTM 1390 Super Duke Makes A Surprisingly Good Motocross Bike
A supermoto rider has taken a 1390 KTM Super Duke R to its limits with daredevil off-road jumps
If you thought you had seen it all, think again, because here’s a KTM 1390 Super Duke R…flying through the air on a motocross track. Lukas Hollbacher, an Austrian Supermoto rider, left nothing to the imagination as he performed stunts we would advise you not to try.
Champion previously in the US Supermoto series, Hollbacher is somewhat of a social media king when it comes to performing such miracles on the 1390 Super Duke R and the Duke 990. The machine is considered one of the most bonkers super naked motorcycles on the market, and for good reason, as discussed in our KTM Super Duke R Evo review.
A bike that’s all about immense power, and not for the faint-hearted, riding a 1390 Super Duke gently will still get the heart racing. That’s exactly what Hollbacher does not do as he instead takes the so-called gloves off and rips through terrain in a way that, quite frankly, boggles the mind.
Replacing the old 1290 Super Duke, the 1390 features a new engine which produces even more power and torque (because apparently the old one didn’t have enough already), love it or hate it styling and tweaked electronics.
The stunts Hollbacher was seen doing on his 1390 Super Duke R are the latest in a series of wild videos he’s made, including one of which included him doing a BMX trick on a 200kg bike. Yes, really.
Making this video even more eye-catching is the fact that Hollbacher is on a tight and twisty track with very little room for error. The Austrian can be seen sliding the rear of his Super Duke 1390 R into a right-hand bend, before lining up for a monster jump where he adds a touch of technicality to the move, something you would expect to find in the Olympic games.
