LCR Honda has a fresh look for the 2025 MotoGP season, with Johann Zarco’s Castrol livery undergoing subtle changes, as has the Idemitsu bike that will be ridden by rookie Somkiat Chantra.

While the Castrol colours remain very similar between last year’s bike and the 2025 RC213V, there are small differences aboard Zarco’s Honda machine, starting with the front fairing which has changed from black to green underneath his race number.

That same front fairing has newly-coloured winglets which are now red instead of black, while the change of rider at the Idemitsu team has, again, seen subtle changes to the 2025 colour scheme.

Like the LCR Honda ridden by Zarco in 2024, which often proved to be the most competitive of the four Honda bikes, Takaaki Nakagami’s bike also featured black winglets. However, Chantra’s new machine does away with those in favour of red ones, while there’s also less gold on Chantra’s RC213V on which he will make his official debut at his home round in Thailand later this month.

Zarco’s first season with Honda in 2024 was very promising despite the Japanese brand’s struggles, and while Joan Mir was very close to the Frenchman during last week’s test at Sepang in terms of lap times, the former race winner with Ducati appears to be the Honda rider to beat once again heading into the new season.

Zarco will also be expected to lead the development when it comes to LCR, as Chantra is making the step up from Moto2. Aiding Chantra, but also all of its full-time riders in 2024, will be Honda’s newly-built test team which includes Nakagami and former Aprilia stalwart Aleix Espargaro.

Present on only one of the LCR machines in recent years, Castrol is taking up a bigger presence with Honda in 2025 as it has also become the title sponsor for the factory team.
