Limited Edition Aprilia RSV4 X ex3ma Sells Out in Rapid Time
Aprilia’s continued X series has seen its RSV4 special edition, which was produced in 30 units, sell out in 76 days
Aprilia’s new RSV4 X ex3ma edition motorcycle was produced with MotoGP very much in mind. The limited-run bike embodies everything that’s unique about Grand Prix racing, including the use of ground-effect aerodynamics found in MotoGP.
The fourth instalment in its Series X, the newer superbike from Aprilia followed a previous edition of the RSV4 X that landed in 2019, its Tuono X model and the XTrenta which was also sold in 30 units when it arrived in 2022, like the 2024 RSV4 X model.
The limited-edition bike, schemed in a celebratory Perla Nera livery as a tribute to the first 250cc world title won by Max Biaggi in 1994, immediately became somewhat of a fantasy for the fans. Its success has been clear for all to see as the 2024 model was sold out in just 76 days.
The RSV4 X is Aprilia’s closest thing to producing a MotoGP bike for customers to throw their leg over, as it is the only bike in the world with ground-effect aerodynamics. This is an extremely sophisticated technology that’s been developed entirely by Aprilia Racing and was used only on the RS-GP24 bike by Maverick Vinales and Aleix Espargaro.
Vinales took this modern and highly developed technology aboard his Aprilia to victory earlier in the year, with a dominant double victory in the sprint and Grand Prix in Texas.
The unique bike features a 1,099cc, 65-degree V4 engine that produces 230bhp at 13,500rpm and 96.6Ib ft of torque at 11,000rpm. In terms of electronics, the package consists of an APX Aprilia Racing ECU with a GPS system that fine-tunes power delivery, wheelie control, traction control and engine braking.
A Brembo Monoblock calliper GP4 MS, Brembo master cylinder PR19x16, and Brembo DP 330 “T Drive” discs comprise the braking set-up. Ohlins FKR pressurised cartridge forks feature at the front, while an Ohlins TTX monoshock is fitted at the rear.
The bike runs on Pirelli tyres with an SC1 at the front and SCX at the rear, while carbon fibre wheel rims, something specific to MotoGP, are used on these stunning motorcycles, the mudguard also includes carbon fibre.
