MV Agusta Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro Wins Prestigious Award
The MV Agusta Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro has taken home the 2024 Good Design award

MV Agusta’s only 1000cc Superveloce family member, the £61k Serie Oro limited edition model, has taken home the prestigious Good Design award at a glitzy ceremony in Chicago.
MV Agusta unveiled its stunning Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro last year after the bike was first shown as a concept in 2022 before a prototype made a public appearance at the EICMA trade show in Milan in 2023.
Inspired by the 1972 500 GP race bike that won the world championship in the hands of 15-time world champion Giacomo Agostini, the Serio Oro features the same 998cc inline-four-cylinder engine found in the Brutale 1000 RR and produces 208bhp at 13000rpm and 85.9Ib ft of torque at 11000rpm.
The bike’s suspension includes an Ohlins electronic set-up with a 43mm USD front fork that offers 120mm of travel, as well as electronic compression and rebound adjustment, and manual adjustment of the preload. At the back, the monoshock provides the same 120mm wheel travel, as well as electronic adjustability in rebound, compression, and preload.
Brembo is the braking supplier, unsurprisingly on a pristine bike such as this, with four-piston Stylema callipers wrapped around 320mm discs. A Brembo single-calliper features around a 220mm rear disc at the rear. Operation is ABS-assisted and there are two different riding modes, including Sport and Race.
The 2024 Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro received thousands of votes from over 56 countries and an international jury of experts were on hand to select the winners based on criteria such as innovation, functionality, formal quality, ergonomics, sustainability, and the “impact of the design”. Among the big-name companies that were honoured across different capacities were renowned names such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Pininfarina.
The Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro was produced in just 500 units worldwide, which is the same number as the Superveloce S Ottantesimo limited edition motorcycle which is new for 2025.
