Italjet Partners With Gresini: Special Edition Dragster Coming
A new special edition version of the Italjet Dragster is coming after the Italian brand announced a partnership with the Gresini Racing MotoGP team
A new partnership between the Gresini Racing MotoGP team and the Italian scooter manufacturer Italjet is set to bear a new special edition version of the Italjet Dragster.
The Gresini edition of the Dragster is set to stand out for its blue-and-red livery derived from that applied to the Ducati Desmosedici GP23 MotoGP bikes ridden in 2024 by Marc Marquez and Alex Marquez, who finished fourth and sixth, respectively, at last weekend’s season-opening MotoGP Qatar Grand Prix.
The Italjet Dragster is currently avaialble in 125cc (125) and 181cc (200) versions, with prices beginning at £5,286. Power is 12.5bhp and 17.5bhp, respectively, with the 125 having 7.7lb ft, and the 200 11.4lb ft.
Speaking on the new partnership with Gresini, Massimo Tartarini, President and CEO of Italjet, said: “For us it’s an incredible honour to become Technical Sponsor of Team Gresini, a squad that has established itself among the top protagonists of MotoGP – while aiming higher and higher each year.
“We’re tied to Team Gresini through a solid partnership, and we also have a very strong sense of belonging to our territory, Italy’s Motor Valley. This partnership will also lead to the development of a Dragster Replica with Team Gresini’s colours. The Dragster, which we define as an Urban Superbike, is an ode to sport and its values.”
Carlo Merlini, Gresini Racing Commercial and Marketing Director, added: “I’m very pleased to welcome Italjet among Gresini Racing MotoGP’s technical sponsors. We share a very pronounced racing DNA, obviously, but also the fact that we belong to a territory that, as it’s well known, has extremely strong connections to motorsport.
“We developed with Italjet a dual partnership: on top of the sponsorship, there’ll also be an agreement to develop a Gresini Racing MotoGP replica of the Dragster, the iconic model of the Italjet range that will soon be available in the distinctive colours of team Gresini.”
