Triumph India has confirmed the launch date of the new Thruxton 400
The long-awaited Triumph Thruxton 400 will be getting the wraps pulled off on August 6 2025

Triumph India has released a new teaser video on Instagram confirming that the Thruxton 400 is set to arrive on August 6.
Little else is given away in the video, although we do get to see the bike from a rear quarter perspective and head on - albeit with a very soft focus! And what the video still doesn’t tell us is whether or not the bike will be making it to the UK. Seeing as this video has been shared by Triumph’s Indian subsidiary, the chances are this is an Asian market-only model, for now at least.

The new bike would become the fourth in the 400 range for Triumph, flanked by the Scrambler 400 X, Speed 400 and recently announced (and Indian market-only) Scrambler 400 XC. It’s likely that this bike, being the sportiest in the family, would sit at the head of the range with a slightly elevated price over its siblings.
What the new bike probably won’t have is any changes to the engine specification or performance, as with around 40bhp it would be close to the A2 limit, which Triumph wouldn’t want to exceed.

Indeed, images of a Thruxton 400 undergoing testing have leaked and can be seen above, and the suspension and brakes look to be the same as those found on the Speed 400. There could, of course, be changes to the settings used, although we wouldn’t expect it to be far from the sweet handling found on the little Speed.
We’ve also done some digging on the test bike shown in the pictures in the Instagram post you can see above, and if that registration plate does indeed read ‘BX72FMF’, it is relating to a Triumph that is black in colour and 400cc in capacity. We have also found out that the bike was first registered in 2022, meaning the baby Thruxton could have been in development for much longer than first thought.
