New Pirelli Diablo Powercruiser Tyre Arrives for 2025
Pirelli’s new Diablo Powercruiser tyre joins the brand’s new Scorpion MX32 Mid Soft motocross compound in its updated 2025 lineup
Pirelli’s 2025 tyre lineup has been bolstered by the addition of a new powercruiser tyre which is aimed at sporty custom-touring motorcycles, along with bagger motorcycles from the likes of Harley-Davidson.
The new cruiser tyre is aimed at models that fit the bill of a typical sports cruiser, meaning the Low Rider S and Low Rider ST are the bikes from Harley-Davidson most likely to benefit from the new boots.
After all, Pirelli admits “the new Diablo Powercruiser boasts a slick shoulder, to improve dry performance, and in the central part of the tread pattern there is the iconic Flash design typical of Pirelli sports products. The new tyres will be available from March 2025 in the main sizes popular for American baggers and cruisers.”
Being a tyre built solely for sporty muscle cruisers, an emphasis on acceleration, braking and cornering was made when creating the new compound, claims Pirelli. The Italian brand also states that the tyre has been developed for owners of new V-twin motorcycles within the cruiser and bagger segment.
But that’s not all as a new Scorpion MX32 tyre has been developed as a successor to the current MX32 compound used in the MX world championship. Pirelli has amassed 82 title wins as a tyre supplier in MX Grand Prix racing and the new Mid Soft tyre is expected to be a step forward over the current tyre.
The new front tyre is believed to be an upgrade in terms of braking behaviour and cornering, while the rear offers greater traction for the holeshot off the start line and coming out of bends. Additionally, the new Scorpion MX32 Mid Soft compound, despite the word soft being in the name, is expected to improve overall performance on medium-hard terrain. The new motocross tyre will be debuted at the start of the 2025 MXGP world championship.
