Merseyside Police are investigating a bike theft that occurred at Millennium Motorcycles, making them the third dealer to be rocked by the same thief who stole a motorcycle while on a test ride.

The theft took place on Wednesday when an individual called Michael Thompson came into the dealer for a test ride, only to never return with the bike he tested. Indeed the story worsens, as it turns out that Thompson has pulled the same trick at two other dealerships in the last few weeks.

The Merseyside-based dealer has contacted the police who are actively working with the motorcycle store to catch the culprit. Thompson, upon making his way into the dealer to test ride a black Kawasaki ZH2 with 1011 miles on the clock, used details from a friend of someone who works at the dealership.

The image above shows the individual in question, while Visordown has spoken to the social media team at Millennium Motorcycles who have agreed to supply us with any potential video footage they may have.

A statement about the incident on its Facebook page, which has nearly three thousand shares, said: “Sadly yesterday 29/01/2025 we had a motorcycle stolen from the shop. The person in question, Michael Thompson, came in for a test ride with a view to buying a bike. As with all test rides, we did a thorough license and national insurance check – everything checked out – no red flags, no markers, it seemed to be all in order, so he went on his test ride and never returned.

“Unfortunately this is not the first time this person has stolen a motorcycle in this manner, he has done the same thing twice from other dealers in the last few weeks. Merseyside police have been informed and are working closely with us to apprehend the individual. Please remember the name, remember the face and most importantly don’t let this person test ride your bikes!!!”

More on this story should we receive further information.
