£7,999 2025 KTM 790 Duke Launched

KTM has announced its 2025 edition of the 790 Duke, and unsurprisingly, not a huge amount has changed

KTM’s financial struggles are well known, but with the development of its bikes being a long-standing process, the tweaks to the 2025 790 Duke were probably well underway before we even got a sniff of the crisis.

The result of that is that a new 2025 version of the highly popular, and entertaining, 790 Duke has arrived, and despite there not being much change for the model, it does look like extremely good value for money.

Visually the bike is unchanged from the 790 Duke we reviewed in 2023, and you’ll be unsurprised to find out that it's available in either traditional KTM orange or a more stealthy black colourway - both gain new decals. Within the casings of the parallel twin-cylinder engine, you’ll find identical internals, meaning you get 93bhp and 64lb ft of juicy mid-range grunt to play with - which is the same as before.

Chassis-wise it's a case of ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’, meaning the bike is still suspended by the same WP Apex forks at the front (non-adjustable) and a matching WP Apex shock at the rear. And braking is taken care of by KTM branded (built by J.Juan) stoppers, and having used them you’ll have no complaints there.

So what is new with the 2025 KTM 790 Duke

From the cockpit of the new bike, you’ll be greeted by a new five-inch TFT dash, which is larger than the item found on the outgoing 790 Duke. Thanks to the new TFT KTM has added a bit of extra functionality to the bike, meaning you now get KTM’s Demo Mode - which bags you all the electronic toys for a limited number of miles - and access to a telemetry screen. You also gain a more finessed wheelie control system, which now boasts six settings. With the TFT, the 2025 790 Duke also gains updated switchgear to help navigate the more multi-layered electronics.

A further enhancement for this model year might help to give some peace of mind, as KTM is chucking a new four-year Premium Manufacturer's Warranty at the bike.

2025 KTM 790 Duke Price

Probably the biggest bonus of the 790 Duke for 2025 is the price. At £7,999 the new 2025 edition of the bike is the same as the bike we rode in 2023, and in a world where everything seems to be going up and up in price, that’s not a bad thing. To put that into perspective, the new KTM is more than £2,000 less than the 2025 Yamaha MT-09, which despite being more powerful can’t be ignored as a competitor in the segment.

More information on the 2025 790 Duke can be found on the official website.
