Rare 2002 Ghezzi & Brian Supertwin 1100 Set for Auction
A very special Ghezzi & Brian Supertwin 1100 race bike needs a new home as it will be up for auction on 10 November
Ghezzi & Brian, founded in 1995, immediately set about creating a racey feel for riders with track-based road bikes. That led to the Supertwin 1100 which is one of the bikes the brand is best known for.
Just three years after taking down the covers and showing itself to the world, Ghezzi & Brian put into production the Supertwin 1100 which features the same engine as the Moto Guzzi Sport 1100
The Moto Guzzi Sport 1100 featured some very, very decent kit indeed, with WP suspension, Brembo brakes, four-pot callipers and a stainless steel exhaust system.
Following the inception of the Supertwin 1100, Ghezzi & Brian didn’t stop there as it developed the Furia model which was an introduction to the naked motorcycles scene of the company.
The Furia reached impressive heights as it featured in the Warner Bros Pictures’ movie “Tre metri sopra il cielo”.
Set for auction on 10 November at the NEC in Birmingham, this Supertwin 1100 featuring a black livery has a guide price of £10,000-£12,000.
A very stylish race fairing is noticeable on the front of the bike, but even more noteworthy is how the sportbike has a very ‘naked’ look as the Moto Guzzi engine is completely visible.
Lik the goodies listed on the Moto Guzzi Sport above, this Supertwin 1100 machine is full of high-spec parts, including Ohlins suspension on the rear and Paioli front forks. It is also fitted with 420mm front dual brake discs.
This bike was only built in a limited number of examples and this one from Iconic Auctioneers is fully UK registered.
The bike has also been very well maintained despite its birth year of 2002 and the last two years has seen the bike live in an art gallery. The bike will be supplied with a small history file containing a detailed maintenance log, two old MOTs, some receipts, original sales flyer, Certificate of Conformity and both original keys.
