Richa has teamed up with the heated motorcycle clothing specialists, Gerbing, to create the Inferno V12 heated motorcycle gloves.

The new gloves can be specced either to be battery-powered, thanks to a pack located in the cuff of each glove, or by pulling power from the bike’s electrical circuit thanks to the supplied wiring loom that can be installed. The battery option could make them the ideal choice for riders taking shorter journeys through winter, especially those who have to remove their gloves multiple times during a ride. For riders who spend long periods of time on the bike in one go, the hardwired option will likely be more attractive, as it could do away with the battery in the cuff and sustain longer, more consistent levels of heat.

The new gloves are built around Gerbing’s Xtreme Microwire 12V heating system, which, unlike some glove heating systems, heats the complete interior of the glove, not just the fingers. Three levels of warmth are provided, and the temperature can be controlled via a button on the glove, with blue, orange, or red status lights, with red being the glove’s warmest setting.

The gloves feature an AquaShell LTZ water-resistant and breathable outer membrane, and a Cordura 600D textile with goatskin palm. There is also a D3O knuckle protector and long cuffs which feature a drawstring closure to keep the cold out.

The Richa Inferno V12 gloves come with the wiring loom for a bike-powered set-up as standard and are priced at £219.99 and available in sizes from small to 4XL. If you want to add the optional battery pack and charger to the bundle, the price will rise by £119.99. Those opting for the battery packs will get a claimed 4.5 hours of heat on the lowest setting, 2.5 hours on the middle setting, or 1.5 hours on the highest.
