Ducati and Piquadro Luggage Collection Launched
The collection, which is “destined to touch the hearts of all enthusiasts” according to Ducati, will be available to buy from mid-April
Ducati is always on the lookout for a highbrow premium brand to collaborate with, and its latest partnership brings Ducati-branded luggage from the premium brand Piquadro.
As mentioned, Ducati, like many premium bike brands, has a long list of collaborations to its name. Some have given birth to bikes, like its close relationship with Lamborghini bringing about a special Streetfighter V4 and Diavel 1260. While others, like its collaboration with Porsche, brought fans riding and driving experiences. This, though, seems to be the first that has brought about a range of top-line luggage.
The collection is said to have been created around the shared mantras of “innovation, design and performance”, and it encompasses two roll-top backpacks and three trolley cases. Two of those are polycarbonate in construction, with one top-of-the-range option in aluminium. Each product is, as you’d expect, produced in a limited and numbered edition of only 300 pieces.
The collection isn’t going on general sale until April, and until that happens we won’t know the price. What we can tell you, though, is that another collaboration from Piquadro is available for sale, this one with the premium Italian car maker Maserati. For reference, the Slim, cabin hardside spinner "Piquadro x Maserati” cabin bag costs a chunky £950. Its non-Maserati branded siblings in the range cost an equally pricy (but slightly more palatable) £750.
Speaking about the collection, Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati, said:
“The collaboration between Ducati and Piquadro comes about from a natural sharing of values, in a perfect combination between the uniqueness of Italian design and the innovative spirit of the two companies. For Ducati, celebrating Italian excellence is a daily attitude and this product line, developed together with another business organization from the Emilia-Romagna manufacturing area, is a further demonstration of this commitment. I am sure it will be appreciated among motoring and travel enthusiasts.”
