Wayne Gardner talks about riding the Suter MMX 500
The limited run, track only two-stroke is about as close as you can get to a 500GP bike in your own garage
THE SUTER MMX 500 seemed like a strange concept when release. As a 500cc, two-stroke machine, it was neither road legal nor eligible for a great number of championships.
That didn’t stop the punters queuing up for a slice of retro GP speed, rasping exhaust note and incredible handling.
The bike is built around a Moto2 frame, with carbon everything and top-spec brakes and suspension. And with nearly 200hp on tap and a tiddly 127kg weight – yes really – it has to be at the top of the list of the ultimate trackday machines.
