KTM 2014 prices announced
New RC390 for under £5k
KTM HAS announced prices for its 2014 range including the new A2-friendly RC125 and RC390 sportsbikes, and the not so friendly 1290 Super Duke R.
The 15hp RC125 costs £4,499. It weighs 135kg and will compete against the likes of Yamaha's R125.
The new RC390 costs £4,999, has 43bhp and weighs 147kg, making it A2 licence compliant. The RC390 has full WP suspension, an LCD display and comes with ABS as standard.
The new fierce-looking 1290 Super Duke R, unveiled at the EICMA Milan show two weeks ago, has been given a price of £13,999. That buys you a 180hp V-twin with 48mm upside-down forks and a WP shock, a slipper clutch, Bosch ABS, and traction control.
It's £4,009 more than BMW’s 160hp new naked bruiser, the S1000R, and £2,609 more than the S1000R Sport edition, which has four riding modes, electronic suspension adjustment and a quickshifter.
The new 1190 Adventure featuring Bosch’s Motorcycle Stability Control costs £12,999. The RC8R is £13,499.
Prices were released at the NEC Motorcycle Live show.
