Harley-Davidson to launch 100 new bikes in 10 years

HARLEY-DAVIDSON plans to launch 100 new 'high-impact' models in the next decade, including some electric ones.

The 10-year plan was revealed by a spokesman for the firm on the recent launch of the 2018 Softail range

He said the term 'high-impact' indicated the models would each be significantly different, as opposed to variants of the same platform.

He said an electric cruiser could be seen as early as 2019 but did not comment whether it would be a production version of the electric Livewire concept, which was extensively tested by journalists and members of the public in 2014.

He said the firm also had its sights set on new, younger riders, with the target of two million new Harley riders in the US and a growth in international business to 50% of annual sales volume.
