A BSA Gold Star 650, the last bike Hairy Biker’s Dave Myers rode, is set to be auctioned next month, with the proceeds going to charity.
The bike was one of the two-wheeled stars in the “The Hairy Bikers Go West” episode of Myers and his partner, Si King’s, BBC TV show. The bike is reported to be the last machine ridden by the likeable chef before he passed away following a battle with cancer.
The episode the bike played a leading role in saw Myers and King reunite for one final ride, starting in Scotland and heading down the west coast of England, ending in Devon. The trip saw the pair traversing ten counties and covering over 600 miles, both of them riding BSA Gold Star 650s. Ahead of the auction, the bike in question will be on show at the National Motorcycle Museum, along with Myers’ riding leathers, helmet and boots.

“The auction of Dave’s BSA Goldstar is a fantastic way to support two charities who do incredible work.” Said Myers’ widow, Liliana Myers. “We hope to raise as much as possible, so would encourage interested bidders to dig deep into their pockets for the chance to own a truly special motorbike.”
The bike will then be going up for auction on Wednesday, March 26 with no estimate and no reserve. Those wishing to place a bid can either do so by telephone or via the online auction webpage.
