Honda Announces New Six-Year Warranty on Scooters and Bikes
The extensive European motorcycle and scooter warranty program can last for up to six years and is linked to the bike, not the owner

For a brand that is historically linked to building wholly reliable bikes already, Honda is going one step further in 2025, as the new Honda service-activated warranty (SAWA) programme is launched.
The scheme, effective from April 2025 onwards, rewards all new motorcycle and scooter owners with the full six years of cover as long as they follow the scheduled service and maintenance plan for their bike, using authorised Honda dealers and service parts. The new scheme will be effective in 14 EU countries and the UK, and covers all road-going Honda motorcycles.

The new scheme covers for a maximum of six years from the date of first registration, and when the service and maintenance plan is followed as per the stipulations, the original two-year warranty is automatically extended by a further twelve-month period, up to a maximum of six years.
Furthermore, the scheme is linked to the bike, and not the owner of the bike, meaning those buying a second-hand Honda registered after April 2025, and which has been serviced and continues to be per the terms and conditions, will continue to be covered by the warranty which will be transferred to the new owner.
The warranty is valid at over 800 dealers throughout the 15 countries it is being launched in, and the only bikes not included in the scheme are those which are not road registered. Other than that, everything is covered, from the sporty new CB1000 Hornet to the iconic GL1800 Gold Wing.
You can find out more about the new warranty on the official website.
