Moto Guzzi have pulled the wraps of the all-new Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello as the perfect gift for itself to celebrate its 100th Anniversary.

After the model was partially revealed in spy shots towards the end of last month, Moto Guzzi has now unveiled the whole package, revealing a fresh GT Sports Tourer addition to the Italian firm’s range.

Famed for its cruisers and bobbers, the addition of the adventure tourer V85 TT in 2018 indicated a desire to forge into new categories, with the V100 Mandello the latest step along this path combining an aesthetic that is both moder and laced with heritage.

For now Moto Guzzi is giving precious little away in terms of finer details, with a note on its website reading ‘See you at EICMA’ suggesting we are a few weeks away from finding out what is lurking underneath properly.

However, you don’t need to be a sleuth to recognise that ‘100’ is a nod to the 1000cc engine, which will be liquid-cooled unit producing around 110-120bhp. This is a step over the V9 and will be the largest engine offered in Moto Guzzi’s European range, and puts it up against the likes of the Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX and Yamaha Tracer 9 GT.

One of the more interesting features we can see is the attention being paid to aerodynamics, as demonstrated by the V100’s beautifully turned out swooping lines, but also its adjustable front windscreen and flanks, which should give off the impression of a pseudo-sportsbike.

Watch the video to get a closer look, but be careful if you have vertigo because the sweeping drone angles - supposed to mimic an eagle - might make you feel a tad queasy.

Nice ad though… Happy Anniversary indeed!
