MV AGUSTA has announced two new colour schemes for the neo-retro-styled Superveloce sports bike.

The announcement follows consultation with MV Agusta fans which will now see them able to choose between the classic red variant, as seen at the motorcycle shows and two, new liveries, one of which harks back to MV’s illustrious racing past.

The first colour variant is a retrospective look back to MV Agusta’s classic corporate colours, Ago Red and Ago Silver. It brings back memories of the first racing motorcycles developed by MV Agusta that dominated the Gran Prix racing scene for years. The gold wheels and frame details are inspired by the Italian racing machines from the past to create a rich distinctive, personalised feel which MV claim goes ‘far beyond the average production of motorcycle’.

The second new colour is Metallic Carbon Black and Dark Metallic Matt Grey with co-ordinated gold detailing on both the wheels and frame. This combination of colours is stated to provide a sophisticated sober feel, synonymous with motorsports in the 70’s providing a rich yet restrained alternative to the Corporate MV Agusta colours.

Adrian Morton, Design Director at MV Agusta’s Research Center CRC, confirms this customer-oriented approach.

“Following the presentation of the Superveloce 800 in Milano, we took on board feedback from both the public and importers and decided to create two colour schemes, both with a gold-finish frame, that accentuate the neo-retro theme, highlight the curvaceous styling and align the models to our brand values.”

The Superveloce is powered by an inline three-cylinder engine, which is pushing a ridiculous 145hp and 65 lb-ft of torque. To reign in all the raging power, the Supervolce is fitted with an MVICS 2.0 electronics package. However, it will lack full IMU support that’s normally found on MV’s four-cylinder bikes. It still comes with traction control, engine braking, and an up/down quick shifter option though.

Marzocchi forks and a Sachs rear shock complete the suspension package, while braking is handled by two M4.34 calipers at the front latching onto 320mm discs.

The Superveloce 800 features also include an Alcantara leather saddle, spoked rims, cruise control, and D.I.D gold chain.

The new colours will join the existing options of white, and red.
