Yamaha UK is offering customers the chance to win a new MT-07 Y-AMT (Yamaha Automated Manual Transmission), simply by booking a test ride at an authorised dealer.

The Y-AMT model features exactly the same Euro5+ 690cc crossplane parallel-twin engine that’s found on the manual MT-07 model. However, the Y-AMT version has no clutch or gear lever. Instead, you get automatic mode, where the bike shifts for you along with manual mode, where you flick up and down with paddles on the left handlebar.

You can find out more about the new Yamaha MT-07 and Y-AMT models in our review of both bikes, which were tested last week as part of the official press launch in sunny Spain.

Yamaha’s Y-AMT system was first introduced on the MT-09 model, but customers in the UK can win the MT-07 version simply by booking a test ride at their authorised dealer.

However, you must do it before 29 June while the test ride can also be aboard any new Yamaha motorcycle. If that’s not enough, Yamaha is also offering the chance for you to have multiple chances of winning the MT-07 Y-AMT which can be achieved by taking more than one test ride. Every test ride you do will equal another entry into the competition.

Power across the MT-07 and Y-AMT is the same, as the CP2 engine produces 72bhp at 8750rpm and delivers 49Ib ft of torque. A 41mm non-adjustable USD fork makes up the front suspension set-up, while a rear mono-shock is at the rear with adjustable preload.

Four-piston radially-mounted brake calipers are found at the front, with a single-piston sliding caliper out back.
