New Vespa Primavera
Four-stroke 125 claimed to deliver up to 180mpg
THIS is the new Vespa Primavera, named after the classic 1960s scooter of the same name.
It comes as a 125cc or 150cc four-stroke and 50cc two-stroke.
The 150 and 125 models have a new air-cooled three-valve single-cylinder engine which manufacturer Piaggio says can deliver up to 180mpg at an average 31mph. They make a claimed 12.9hp and 10.7hp respectively.
The two-stroke 50 ‘is intended for riders looking for more brilliant performance, perfect for getting around quickly in the city,’ according to Piaggio.
There's a fourth verion which Piaggio says has ‘the most powerful four-stroke 50cc engine on the market' at 4.35hp, but it's only for markets where two-strokes are prohibited, which don't inlude the UK.
The 125 and 150 will cost £3,299 and the 50cc two-stroke £2,599.
The Primavera comes in red, brown, white, black and two shades of blue.
