Benelli has revealed two new models to plug a hole in the A1 segment, as the CBT-compatible BKX 125 and BKX 125 S are revealed.

The two machines are built around a common platform, meaning the frame, engine, suspension and braking hardware are the same across both bikes. While the BKX 125 is a lightweight adventure bike, and the BKX 125 S is a more sporty-looking supermoto-style machine, with that in mind the internal settings of the suspension are likely to be very different across the two models.

The same water-cooled four-stroke single-cylinder engine powers both machines. As you’d expect for a CBT-compatible bike, the power output is a modest 14bhp while 8.8lb ft of peak torque arrives at 7,500rpm. The four-valve single overhead cam 125cc engine has a bore and stroke of 55 x 54.5mm and a compression ratio of 12.0:1.

The two new CBT-friendly bikes from Benelli follow the BKX 300 and BKX 300 S, which are (you guessed it) 300cc A2 machines that are aesthetically almost identical to the newly announced 125s. Both the 125 and 300 variants are yet to hit the market, although the Benelli UK website does have all four machines listed as bikes that are “Soon on Offer” pointing to them arriving in the UK in the not too distant future. What the pricing will be remains to be seen, although if the pricing of Benelli’s other lightweight bikes is anything to go by, we don’t expect them to be overly expensive things to buy.
