Dean Harrison has confirmed he will return to the roads at the 2022 Isle of Man TT with Dao Racing as he looks to defend his hard-fought Senior TT title against hot favourite Peter Hickman.

The Bradford racer also revealed he will embark on another full season of British Superbike Championship (BSB) competition with the same team riding a Kawasaki ZX-10RR.

Harrison powered to a stunning victory on the blue riband 2019 Senior TT aboard the Dao Racing-run Silicone Engineering KawasakI ZX-10RR after making the most of technical issues for Smiths Racing BMW’s Hickman.

Also the second fastest rider around the Mountain Course after Hickman with a 134.9mph lap, his Senior TT win was his third success on the Isle of Man and 11th podium.

For 2022, he will remain with the same team - which will run under the Dao Racing banner - while dovetailing his commitments in the 2022 BSB after emerging as a more consistent points scorer in 2021.

“I’m really excited about 2022, it feels like we’re finally getting back to some kind of normality,” he said. “Last year, we didn’t have any road racing apart from one weekend at Oliver’s Mount, so our whole effort went into BSB.

“I think it proved to be an important season, when you’re running with some of the fastest superbike riders in the world, it can only help bring you on and I think both myself and the team learnt a lot.

“This year we have the international road racing back which is very exciting. I’m confident what we’ve learnt in BSB so far will help make us faster when we get back on the roads and with a team and bike I know and work well with, this could certainly be my best year yet.”
