Camier crashes and taken to hospital

British rider, Leon Camier has been taken to hospital due to a huge high-side which occurred early on in the first free practice session at the inaugural round at Istanbul Park.

The Fixi Crescent Suzuki ride crashed on the exit of Turn eight at high speed where there is low-grip on the Turkish circuit. Camier was attended to trackside with the first signs showing a broken Metatarsal in his right foot, however there are also injuries to his ankle and lower leg in general.

After another high-speed accident two weeks ago at the Nurburgring, Camier already had arm and neck injuries that were sustained from that incident as this round of WSBK at Istanbul Park approached.

For more in-depth examinations, Camier has been taken for scans at the local hospital, but team manager Paul Denning has not ruled out Camier’s participation this weekend as a decision will be made once news has been received from the hospital.
