Danny Buchan to ride in European Superstock
Talented youngster gets the nod from Italian squad
DANNY BUCHAN the 18-year old Superstock 1000 sensation will be riding in the European Superstock 1000 class alongside the World Superbike series.
Buchan will race a similar Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R in both series but will ride in the colours of the Italian Go Eleven squad in the Euro rounds.
Danny will join fellow MSS rider Alex Lowes, who will be standing in for Jonathan Rea in the Castrol Honda WSB squad at the next round in Brno, Czechoslovakia, on 10th July.
With just one date clash between the two series and Danny holding a very close second in the National Superstock Championship, the young rider from Essex will drop a Euro round to concentrate on domestic series.
The Go Eleven team are a high level squad originally founded by Ruben Xaus amongst others, with the aim of bringing on young, talented riders. Team manager Dennis Sacchetti first saw Danny at last year’s World Superbike round in Silverstone, where the Superstock 600 race supported the WSB regulars, tracking his progress ever since.
Buchan said, “It will be interesting to see how well we can do as I don’t want to go there and just wally around at the back. Obviously they are new tracks but with Playstation, You Tube and a bit of determination, we should get the hang of it!
