Yamaha has given its sport heritage range a tickle for 2025 with new XSR125 and Legacy models receiving updated colourways and an engine that now meets Euro5+ emission standards.

Both retro-inspired bikes feature a single-cylinder Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) engine that produces 14.8bhp, and it is shared with the more aggressive-looking MT-125 and R125.

Beyond meeting Euro5+ regulations, the two XSR models stay the same as before and can be ridden on both an A1 licence on completion of a CBT.

But the emissions tweaks are now joined by the more expensive Legacy model arriving in a ‘Legend Silver’ colour option which is a design inspired by the Japanese company’s iconic XT500 from the 1970s and early 1980s. The Legacy edition was previously available in a ‘Historic Black’ livery.

The standard XSR differs from the Legacy model thanks to its cast wheels and more road-focused tyres, and it now comes in a choice of grey, blue, or white.

As part of the update Yamaha has also confirmed pricing for the two bikes with the standard XSR125 featuring an RRP of £4,951, while the Legacy edition will cost you an extra £400 (£5,351).

The updated XSR range joins Yamaha’s three-wheeling Tricity 300 scooter in receiving updates for 2025.

The 292cc single-cylinder engine has been given a lighter exhaust and still produces 27.6bhp at 7,250rpm. The big-body scooter comes in three colourways, which are ‘Milky White’, or ‘Zen Green’ and ‘Power Grey’, and it will set you back £8,679.
