Kawasaki to reveal supercharged sports-tourer

Production bike to use 2015’s Balanced Supercharged engine

Kawasaki to reveal supercharged sports-tourer

A NEW supercharged Kawasaki sports-tourer will be one of the stars of the EICMA show in Milan this November.

Launching on November, the bike has been confirmed via a new teaser video from Kawasaki. Dubbed ‘Supercharged Your Journey’ the video doesn’t show the bike itself but confirms that it’s coming and that it will use the Balanced Supercharged engine that Kawasaki showed in Tokyo in 2015.

It says it’s the third supercharged bike to come from Kawasaki – after the H2 and the H2R.

The Balanced Supercharged engine shown at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2015 was similar to the H2’s 1000cc four-cylinder but featured a clever new supercharger design. It used variable intake vanes to alter the airflow into the supercharger, with the intention of increasing low-end torque and efficiency rather than going for out-and-out power like the H2.

We’ll find out all the secrets when the bike is launched in Milan on November 7.
