2025 KTM 890 Adventure R Takes After 450 Rally With Latest Updates
KTM’s new 890 Adventure R retains its place as the go-to adventure middleweight within its range, and for 2025 it features new graphics and a Connectivity Unit as standard
KTM has taken the covers off its new 2025 890 Adventure R which gains new graphics as it mirrors the 450 Rally model in more ways than one.
Last week KTM introduced its new 2025 790 Adventure bike to its middleweight category and in doing so it replaces the outgoing 890, however, the new 890 R model remains at the top of the range after gaining a new connectivity unit that’s included as standard, enabling connection between the KTMConnect app and five-inch TFT dash via Bluetooth.
The new system will allow for access to Turn-by-Turn+ navigation, music and incoming call functions. The new 890 R model features a low-level windscreen, high front fender, rally-style bodywork and enhanced body protection, mirroring the 450 Rally model.
The suspension used comprises a WP package, including a WP XPLOR 48mm fork and a WP XPLOR PDS rear shock. The suspension’s travel is the same front and rear, coming in at 240mm.
The new bodywork and graphics are based on the 450 Rally motorcycle while the bike features ABS components with a 9.3 MP modulator, an Off-road ABS system that’s linked with its own off-road mode and an optional Rally Mode and Demo Mode functionality.
The 889cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine produces 103bhp and 73.7Ib ft of torque. The braking system sees two radially mounted four-piston calipers on the front with 320mm of travel, while the rear comprises a two-piston floating caliper with 260mm travel.
The bike’s weight, without fuel, is listed at 200kg and features a seat height of 880mm. The new 890 Adventure R also gets Mitas Enduro Trail tyres that are built to handle all off-road conditions.
