DAO Racing Ends Long-Term Kawasaki Partnership in Favour of Honda
DAO Racing will race CBR1000RR-R SP bikes in 2025 after deciding to join Honda following its exit from Kawasaki
DAO Racing recently confirmed the end of its ten-year relationship with Kawasaki, before announcing its plans to join Honda for the 2025 BSB season.
The move to Honda will see them race CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP motorcycles, with an announcement on its rider line-up to be confirmed in due course.
Honda could win the 2024 title with Tommy Bridewell, and along with the Yamaha R1 and Ducati Panigale V4 R, the CBR1000RR-R has been one of the most successful bikes this season, making the decision to join Honda an easy one, according to DAO Racing team manager, Joey Bagnall.
“We’re really happy to be joining forces and working alongside Honda UK and Havier [Beltran] for 2025,” said Bagnall.
“It’s a great opportunity to showcase the potential the team has. It’s a proven package with what Tommy [Bridewell] has been doing on it this year. We’re excited to receive the machinery and get testing.”
What the addition of DAO Racing means for Honda is another very fast set of bikes that should be competing towards the front of the class in 2025.
Havier Beltran, Team Manager at Honda Racing UK, added: “I am delighted to welcome DAO Racing into the Honda family. For many years, they have been great competitors and have always run an extremely professional and well-put-together team.
“I am excited to see what they can achieve on Honda Fireblades next year. The increasing number of teams choosing to use Honda machinery is a testament to the hard work and dedication that Honda has put into motorcycle racing. I look forward to sharing the racetrack with DAO Racing when the season begins in the new year.”
