APRILIA is recalling certain model year Shiver and Caponord models over a faulty output gear shaft that could cause the rear wheel to lock up.

The recall hits the 2014-2015 Shiver 750 and the 2015 Caponord 1200 - a total of 337 bikes.

Aprilia owner Piaggio Group says: ‘Due to improper machining on the output gear shaft face, the fastening nut on the sprocket may loosen and the rear wheel may lock up.’

Piaggio will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the output shaft, replacing any that are found to be defective, free of charge.
