’The Greatest Race On Earth’ Isle of Man TT Movie and Series Confirmed
From the Mountain Course to the Silverscreen, as Isle of Man TT film and docuseries, entitled The Greatest Race On Earth, gain big-name backing
A new film and docuseries is set to be made about the Isle of Man TT, and it has gained the support of some very big Hollywood names.
‘The Greatest Race On Earth’ is being made by Plan B Entertainment, Jason Keller (Le Mans 66 / Ford vs Ferrari), Entertainment 360’s Guymon Casady and Box To Box Films (Drive to Survive/Senna documentary), and A-list Hollywood superstars Brad Pitt and Channing Tatum are also involved with the project.
Tatum was spotted at the TT in 2023, sometimes wearing a Padgett’s Racing t-shirt and frequently taking pictures with fans and casually chatting to the racers at the event. Brad Pitt is also taking part in another big-budget racing movie, as he’s playing a leading role in the Lewis Hamilton-backed film rumoured to be called ‘Apex’.
Filming for the new Docuseries has already begun at this year’s event. As has been the theme with F1’s Drive to Survive series, the producers will likely be looking to pick out selected storylines from this year’s event. With famously larger-than-life characters within the road racing paddock, the outcome of all of this will likely make for a much more colourful and entertaining show than the sometimes dry F1 series we’ve come to know.
Speaking about the new project, Box To Box Films’ James Gay-Rees said:
"It’s a great privilege to be working with these partners on this extremely unique project … The Isle of Man TT is one of the most visceral, exhilarating and unusual events in the motorsport diary. We can’t wait to bring this incredible world to new audiences.”
