Saietta R electric sports bike on US trade mission
British makers of 96hp electric motorcycle seek investment in Colorado
THE British firm behind a high-powered electric sports bike is on a trade mission to the US seeking investment in its creation.
Agility Global is one of 16 British companies selected to be part of the week-long 'Clean and Cool Mission' to Colorado, one of the fastest-emerging clean technology centres in the US. Backed by the UK Trade and Investment and the Technology Strategy Board, the party is made up of UK entrepreneurs and early-stage businesses in the industry.
Agility's Saietta R makes a claimed 93.7lbtf of torque - more than a BMW S1000R - and 96.5hp. It does 0-60mph in a claimed 3.9 second. The battery range is 112 miles in town or 58 miles on the motorway, and the top speed 80mph. It charges to 80% in an hour and costs £16,770.
Agility Global founder Lawrence Marazzi, 42, said feedback so far had been ‘phenomenal’.
‘It's impossible to go anywhere without causing people to stop and stare - it's a real conversation starter,’ he said.
'We have been inundated with interest so far but what we need now is to grow.’
