Yamaha and Riders for Health announce three-year partnership

Yamaha have released more details on their recently announced partnership with Riders for Health, which will run for at least three years.

Yesterday (12 April 2022), Yamaha announced they will be entering a partnership with Riders for Health, which is also the official charity of MotoGP. 



Riders for Health is a charity which works to provide healthcare workers with motorcycles so that they are better able to get to some of the more remote and difficult to reach places in Africa, to provide treatment and medical supplies to those who need them.

Today (13 April 2022), Yamaha have released more details on their partnership with Riders for Health, that for now will last for three years. 



The partnership is also part of Yamaha’s African-based rally programme for 2022, which was announced yesterday and will see them race the Tunisian Desert Challenge later this month and the Africa Eco Race this October. 



In a press release, Yamaha said, “Riders for Health has long used Yamaha motorcycles to provide these vital services, making the organisation a natural fit for this partnership as Yamaha looks to live by its ethos of contributing to society and bringing value to people’s lives.”



Additionally, Yamaha has announced that there will be fundraising activities set up in the lead up to the Africa Eco Race in conjunction with the UK-based fundraising element of Riders for Health, Two Wheels for Life. Eric de Seynes, the President and CEO of Yamaha Motor Europe, and Senior Executive Officer of Yamaha Motor Company, said about the partnership, “We are proud to partner with Riders for Health.”

He added, “Our aim with this partnership is to raise awareness and raise funds for Riders’ projects in which they provide vital healthcare to communities in the most remote areas. We really hope that people are touched by Riders’ cause and participate in our upcoming fundraising activities.”



In addition, Andrea Coleman, a Co-Founder of Riders for Health and Two Wheels for Life, said, “Yamaha are close to our hearts. We have used their reliable AG bikes for over 30 years in our African programmes and their racing teams have supported our fundraising since the start of the charity. We are excited to announce this new, landmark three-year partnership between Riders for Health, Two Wheels for Life and Yamaha. Together we will show that motorcycles save lives."
