Michael Laverty’s MLav Moto3 Team Confirms 2025 Lineup
The Michael Laverty-owned team will feature an international flavour in 2025 after signing Marcos Uriarte
MLav Racing will line up with Uriarte, who replaces Scott Ogden following his move to the CIP Team, and Eddie O’Shea.
Michael Laverty’s team has put a big emphasis on bringing through British talent, and although Uriarte is joining the team, that motto is continuing with the addition of O’Shea, who replaced Joshua Whatley for the final five rounds of 2024 before taking up a full-time role in the team for next season.
In 2024 Uriarte competed in the JuniorGP series for the CFMoto Aspar Team, which added former Moto3 race winner and Moto2 rider Dennis Foggia to its ranks, alongside Marc Marquez’s protege Max Quiles to its team for the 2025 campaign. The Spaniard scored five podiums from 12 races in JuniorGP last season — although none were wins — on his way to fifth in the championship.
Uriarte managed a total of five podiums from 12 races in JuniorGP last season but none of those rostrum results were wins as he closed out the championship in a solid fifth place.
The Spaniard, who has taken a slightly unusual route to Moto3 as he never competed in the Red Bull Rookie Cup championship, did contest one wildcard round in the world championship this year at the season-ending Solidarity Grand Prix of Barcelona. In that race Urirate was last of the 25 riders that completed the Grand Prix.
Uriarte will have big shoes to fill in 2025 and Ogden was a strong performer for the MLav Racing Team throughout his tenure with the British Squad, whom he had spent his entire Moto3 career with until securing a switch to CIP.
Uriarte is the second international rider to join the team after Argentinian Marco Morelli raced for MLav in the European Talent Cup last year.
