Husqvarna announce worldwide recall of FS 450
The recall is due to potentially dangerous brake defects
HUSQVARNA is recalling all 2016, 2017 and 2018 FS 450 supermotos due to potentially dangerous defects with the front Brembo radial brakes.
According to a statement issued by the company, the recall has been made by Brembo itself, because of ‘possible defects to the piston of the front radial brake master cylinder (diameter 15mm and 16mm)’.
The recall comes just days after parent company, KTM, also issued a recall on a number of models in its Duke range over a potential fault that could cause front brake failure.
According to the Austrian manufacturer, a potential weakness in the Brembo master cylinder piston could cause it to crack under heavy braking. They added that the issue is not limited to KTM as other motorcycles may also feature the potentially defective part.
Owners of the affected FS 450s are due to receive a letter from Husqvarna, inviting them to arrange an appointment for inspection and replacement, at no extra cost.
And for peace of mind, all Husqvarna owners can check the ‘Service’ area of Husqvarna Motorcycles’ website to determine if their motorcycle is affected by this recall.
