Moto3 Rookie Breaks Both Legs in Off-Road Accident
2025 Moto3 rookie Guido Pini has suffered a major injury ahead of the new season after breaking both legs
The Italian rider was training in preparation for the new season but broke both legs in an off-road motorbike crash. The injuries have required him to undergo surgery.
Guido Pini was training with SeventyTwo Motorsport, a management company that’s currently run by Marc Marquez’s former manager Emilio Alzamora, when he broke both legs in the off-road accident.
Set to turn 17 years of age on 9 January, Pini’s first foray into Grand Prix racing will now take a back seat as he looks to recover from his major injury. Prior to his accident, Pini was confirmed as team-mate to David Munoz at the Intact GP KTM Team.
In a social media post, Pini wrote: “Unfortunately, last week, in the SeventyTwo Motorsports stage, I injured my legs doing off-road. Injuries are part of this sport that I love so much, now I am in good hands and already working to recover the best way possible.”
Pini’s route to Moto3 started by winning the 2022 European Talent Cup series before earning his spot on the Intact GP team for 2025 following an impressive rookie season in the Junior GP category. Pini won three of the seven races he competed in, while adding a further two podium finishes to his resume.
In 2024 Pini made his first appearance in the Red Bull Rookies Cup in Austria, but that season was also derailed by injury as Pini did not make his first appearance in the Junior GP class until round four at Portimao. That means 2025 is the second year on the bounce where Pini has missed the opening round, while his current injury likely means he will miss most of the season if not all of it.
