New 2025 Ducati XDiavel V4 Revealed
The Ducati XDiavel returns for 2025, with a new sleeker look, improved electronics and V4 power

Launched in 2016, the first XDiavel took the already bonkers 1260 variant of the muscle bike, and cranked the allure up to eleven thanks to distinctive finishes and flashy design features.
It was only a matter of time before it also gained the monstrous V4 powerplant that already resides in the existing Diavel V4. But where the previous XDiavel featured lighter tweaks over and above its sibling, the changes to the 2025 XDiavel compared to the stock bike are much more far-reaching, and they start with a whole new look.
What's new with the 2025 XDiavel V4

Although the overall silhouette of the new V4 is unmistakable compared to the Diavel V4, it’s now much more sleek with a new headlight being the first point of note. It’s also now missing two of its sibling's trademark design features, as the buxom air intakes that hugged the front forks have been replaced with neat-looking brushed aluminium shrouds on each side.
From there backwards, the styling is more similar to the V4 and the outgoing XDiavel 1260, although many of the trim parts and body lines have been nipped, tucked and made to look decidedly more taut than before. What remains, and what was one of the distinguishing features of the model, are the forward controls which are fitted as standard. They mount in an almost identical position as to the previous generation XDiavel, and as with that bike, mid-set controls are still an option for those looking for a sportier riding position.

The real news with the new XDiavel though is the engine. The heart of the bike is now the thumping 1,158cc V4 Granturismo. In XDiavel trim it pumps out a very healthy 165bhp and peak torque of 92.5 lb ft which means it’s very close, if not the same, as is found on the current generation Diavel V4.
As with the other latest versions of the Granturismo engine, there are a host of features to make it a usable unit when not hammering along a twisty B-road, with the rear cylinder deactivation being just one of them. It effectively kills the rear bank of cylinders at slow speeds, reactivating them once the engine speed rises. When only the front two cylinders are working, the bike sounds more like an old-school V-twin, with the engine note only changing up again once the rear cylinders engage for that trademark V4 shriek. The other bonus of the system is that less heat is transferred to the rider and passenger.

In total, the 229kg XDiavel V4 comes in 6kg lighter than the old 1260 model, with the engine and chassis helping to shed most of the pounds. At the front, it’s suspended by a 50mm, fully adjustable front fork, with a fully adjustable monoshock at the rear working alongside the obligatory single-sided swingarm. The braking system comes from Brembo, with Stylema calipers biting down on hefty 330mm discs at the front end.

As you’d expect, a full suite of electronics is on hand to assist, with IMU-controlled ABS and traction control topping the list. It also gains a new full-colour 6.9-inch TFT with Bluetooth connectivity, and an up-and-down quickshifter and blipper. There are also three power modes, four riding modes (Sport, Touring, Urban, Wet) and the more focused electronics including wheelie control, launch control, and cruise control.

The new XDiavel V4 will be rolling into European dealers in May 2025 and will be available in two colours, Burning Red and Black Lava, both of which are metallic. That makes this a rare Ducati model, in that the traditional Ducati Red isn’t an option at the launch. Pricing at the time of writing is TBC.
