New Benelli Tornado 550 Supersport Launched for 2025
A new supersport has been launched by Benelli with the Tornado 550 with a focus on sporty, yet comfortable riding
If you think the front headlight design looks a little familiar, you’re not mistaken as the Benelli Tornado 550 seems to be taking after the KTM 1390 Super Duke R, or at least it's trying to.
The new Tornado 550 is Benelli’s latest addition to its supersport range, taking after the Tornado twin 500 naked model in the process except it's got the inclusion of fairing in typical sportbike fashion. Sporting an aggressive appearance that’s also futuristic, the new Benelli Tornado 550.
Powering the new Tornado 550 is a 554cc parallel-twin engine that delivers 56bhp at 8250rpm and 39.8Ib ft of torque at 5400rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox and is fully Euro5+ compliant.
The frame consists of tubular steel and the suspension set-up features high-end specs, including a fully adjustable inverted 41mm Marzocchi fork at the front with 110 mm travel and an adjustable monoshock for preload and rebound at the rear, which is directly linked to the swingarm.
The braking system comprises twin 320mm semi-floating discs with a four-piston radial monoblock calliper on the front, while a single disc with a two-piston calliper features at the rear. Both the front and rear set-up include ABS. The 17-inch wheels are made of aluminium alloy. The seat height comes in at 790mm while ground clearance is 160mm.
The new Tornado 550 is equipped with a host of features you would expect, including a five-inch TFT colour display that provides all the information you need such as speed, RPM, gear position and fuel level. The display is also compatible with smartphones, allowing riders to connect devices and access features like navigation and music.
The Benelli Tornado 550 will be available in 2025, with three colour options: Midnight Black, Tech Silver, and Gres White.
