Yamaha NMAX 125 Tech MAX Wins Red Dot Award
Yamaha’s new NMAX 125 Tech MAX scooter has gifted the Japanese brand yet more Red Dot Award success

The new NMAX 125 Tech MAX scooter has sealed Yamaha’s latest win at the Red Dot Awards, taking the company’s streak of wins to 14 at the international design competition.
Receiving a facelift for 2025, the updated NMAX 125, which was already hugely popular in the UK since going on sale in 2015, was joined by the all-new Tech MAX model for 2025 as part of the brand’s entry-level sport scooter revamp.
The NMAX 125 Tech MAX scooter picked up the globally-prestigious Red Dot Award in the Product Design 2025 category.
Part of the thinking from Yamaha with the new NMAX was to make it a more ‘sporty, premium’ machine in relation to the existing ‘MAX’ scooters, such as the XMAX 125 and 300 and TMAX 560.
And the newest family member is now part of Yamaha’s ‘sport scooter’ range, moving from its previous ‘urban mobility’ classification. The more premium Tech MAX model receives an uprated dash, custom seat and bespoke grey or bronze paint for £300 more than the standard scooter, which has taken it to its current price of £3,900.

The NMAX is also claimed to be the most user-friendly model in the MAX Series, and as part of that thinking it includes a combined 3.7-inch LCD and 4.2-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, and an option for Garmin navigation.
Both the NMAX 125 and Tech MAX scooters feature the same 13-inch wheels and non-adjustable forks at the front and twin shocks at the rear. Braking comprises hydraulic 230mm discs front and rear, which are supported by ABS.
The two models also produce the same 12bhp and 8.2Ib ft of torque. Traction control is also featured as standard.
