HONDA has launched an online service allowing customers to be among the first to find out about the company’s 2020 Honda Africa Twin adventure motorcycles by registering their interest on a new online system.

After we were some of the first to break the news of the new bike last week, Honda have taken the step of asking customers who might be interested in the new 2020 Honda Adventure machines by entering their details online.

The Tweet, posted late on Friday last week, says: ‘True Adventure’s calling. Can you hear it? Get ready to leave the road behind as you answer the call of the wild’. The tweet is accompanied by a teaser video that features a rugged moon-like environment with an invisible motorcycle kicking up the dust as it zooms through the landscape.

Neither the Tweet nor the video make reference to the bikes people are registering their interest for, although the video does include the words ‘True Adventure’ written in the same font that adorns the CRF1000L Africa Twin.

It’s likely the new machine will be the larger capacity CRF1100L Africa Twin we have already reported on, featuring a 1,084cc engine, 101hp, and 24-litre fuel tank. While the new bike’s spec doesn’t take the fight to KTM, Ducati and BMW in the bog-bore adventure bike battleground, the extra poke and bigger tank across the range should make for a truly real-world useable adventure machine.

The second machine that could be included in the 2020 line-up is the potential inclusion of a smaller version of the Africa Twin joining the fray in the form of the CRF850L Africa Twin we reported on at the start of the month, which if true, would mean Honda will now have adventure-spec machines covering 850, 1000 and 1100cc market segments.
