Ducati will kick off its 2023 World Premiere web series of new motorcycle launches with a special edition of its Streetfighter V4 created in a collaboration with Lamborghini.

The Italian firm is gearing up for a flurry of new model unveilings over the next two months via the seven-episode web series, with models including a new Ducati Scrambler and possibly a new V4-engined Diavel speculated among them.

For now, all we have to go on is some typically vague episode titles, but after a teaser image was revealed to promote the first launch - taking place on 2 September - we can see Ducati and Audi-owned stablemates Lamborghini have been working on a special edition model.

In the shot we can see a body panel of the Streetfighter V4, top half in Ducati scarlet and the bottom half in a more lurid shade of fluorescent green/yellow featuring the acronym STO.

Standing for ‘Super Trofeo Omologato’, STO is a reference to the Lamborghini Huracan STO, a honed ‘race car for the road’ version of the exotic Italian marque’s V10 supercar producing 630bhp and hitting a top speed of 193mph.

Since the Huracan STO and Streetfighter V4 share several ideals as honed, slightly bonkers premium Italian machines, they appear to make perfect partners for an upgraded motorcycle that will no doubt come with all manner of exclusive and sporting touches, not least the paintjob previewed here.

This isn’t the first time Ducati and Lamborghini have worked together on a limited edition motorcycle with the ‘Streetfighter V4 STO’ coming two years after the launch of the plush Ducati Diavel 1260 Lamborghini.
