A more affordable mini adventure?

THERE’S a whole recently-emerged market of mini adventure bikes which don’t come cheap, with Kawasaki’s Versys-X 300 costing £5,149 and Honda’s CRF 250 Rally £5,329.

This new offering from Taiwanese bike maker SYM may not have the specs to rival its Japanese counterparts but it looks the part and is sure to undercut them significantly on price.

Unveiled at Eicma in Milan this week, the NH-Trazer 200 is a single-cylinder 183cc adventure bike making a claimed 19.4hp and 12.2lbft.

It’s likely to lead to a sleeved-down 125cc learner-legal version for the European market.

We knew it was coming, because we spotted patent images of it at the beginning of the week. What we’re wondering is what happened to the naked sports bike version shown in the same patents.

Maybe next year?
