New Ariel Ace R revealed
Limited edition Ariel Ace pumps out over 200hp
BRITISH marque Ariel has just revealed this new ‘R’ edition of its VFR1200F-powered Ace, tuned up from the stock motor’s 173hp to a monumental 201hp.
Ariel worked with tuning specialists MJW to boost the 1237cc V4’s power, and raise torque from 95lbft to 105lbft.
The Ariel Ace R also has carbon-fibre bodywork and a ‘black pearl’-finished billet aluminium frame.
Ariel says it’s the latest and lightest version of the frame, offering sharper steering thanks to a new headstock angle.
It’s got Öhlins forks with uprated springs for ‘more precise handling’ according to Ariel. The shock is also from Öhlins.
It’s got five-spoke carbon-fibre wheels, which are 50% lighter than the wheels on the lower-spec Ariel Ace, according to the firm.
Only 10 Ariel Ace R’s are set to be made, to be delivered to customers next spring with a starting price of £49,995 plus VAT.
It’s due to make its public debut at the Motorcycle Live show at Birmingham’s NEC this weekend.
